Beef & Broccoli

1-1.5 lb flank steak

2 tbsp fresh ginger, miced

3 cloves of garlic, minced

½ cup soy sauce

2 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tsp sriracha

1 head of broccoli

½ tbsp cornstarch

1-2 tsp sesame seeds

Combine ginger, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and sriracha in a medium bowl. Cutting against the grain, thinly slice your steak and add to the bowl of sauce. Toss to fully coat the steak and let marinade for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, cut broccoli into small pieces. Head a large skillet over medium high heat. Work in batches and sear steak about 45 seconds per side, leaving as much sauce in the bowl as possible.. Set aside. Turn heat to medium-low, add broccoli to the pan and cover. Let steam for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. While the broccoli cooks, whisk cornstarch into the sauce. Then, add steak and any juices from resting plates to the skillet along with the remaining sauce. Let simmer for 5-7 mins until broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened. Top with sesame seeds. Serve with white rice.
